The Wensum Room at Chestnut Nursery School Taverham has been exploring different cultures and their customs. The children had lots of fun learning about the different clothing that people wear. The children sat and looked at lots of pictures and had lots of questions for the staff.
Outside in the garden they looked at different tribal patterns and then created their own.
The babies in the Thurne Room have been looking at the inventor Garrett Morgan as part of Black History Month. As he invented the traffic lights, they have carried out lots of activities based around this. They have had a go at making their own traffic lights, explored the colour and textures of traffic light rice bags, then explored what happens to the colours when they are mixed. Using the traffic signals to follow - stop, get ready and go within their vehicle play, the children looked at different houses from around the world, and used mark making skills to draw their own.
