The children in the Butterfly Room at Chestnut Nursery School Earlham Grove have been exploring ice. This has given the children the opportunity to learn some wonderful new vocabulary, and to really think about the different methods they can use to get frozen objects out of the ice.
The children in the Ladybird Room have thoroughly enjoyed going on 'Bug Hunts' in the garden, seeing what they can find using magnifying glasses and binoculars. To extend the children’s interest and learning, the practitioners created a bug activity for the children to engage in and also explore different textures. These activities created a rich environment full of opportunities for children to communicate with their peers, practitioners and enhancing their vocabulary and social interactions.
